The E-Marker chip inside the connector tells your laptop exactly what the cable can handle, so the correct speed and the correct wattage are agreed automatically every time you plug in.
• 240W CHARGING AND 8K 60HZ VIDEO ON ONE LEAD — Carries up to 240W under Power Delivery 3.1 at 48V 5A for a gaming laptop, and steps down safely to 140W, 100W, 65W or 30W for a MacBook, an ultrabook or a phone.
